It’s quite important to start off with a beginner faction, one that can be far less punishing than others. One misstep and suddenly you’re on the back foot for the rest of the campaign, even on easy difficulty. There’s so much to account for, from settlement building to army management. It can only enhance or change up the experience a bit.If you’re at least fairly new to strategy games, Total War: Warhammer 2 can be a daunting experience. It's pretty open ended and really there isn't a reason why you can't go 'nah, not doing that', let's do this instead. To win you need to basically capture x number of settlements and wipe out y factions. Completely different start and experience. ME has him in control of Yvress with an army there, but him starting in the Badlands to combat the Greenskins, meaning you will fight wave after wave after wave of them. Eltharion (Warden and Paunch DLC) starts Vortex at Yvress on Ulthuan and is encourages to expand out. The Mortal Empires might move your position slightly, or change the map layout a bit, and is more open ended.įor example, FLC lord Imrik starts in the desert with the Tomb Kings in vortex and in ME he starts all the way east, almost into the Darklands around Malus and Sniktch. The vortex campaign is story/objective focused.
